There’s currently a full-page colour ad running weekly in The Times by the anti-choice crowd vilifying Canada over our lack of a late term abortion law.
The ad in question calls on Canadians to push for a law limiting late term abortions.

Over the past decade, Iraq is hardly what most would describe as a favoured holiday destination. Long years of dictatorship, war, occupation and finally civil war have left scars that run deep and subjected the Middle Eastern nation’s population to incredible hardships. More recently, however, the country appeared to be entering a new period of stability, marked initially by the final withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from the region in December 2011. Iraq looked to be prepared to join a global community of nations and participate in world affairs on its own terms, rather than that of her occupiers. It appeared, for all intents and purposes, that a new day just might be dawning for Iraq.

Dave Husdal was holding court once again with a young team of journalists.
It made for long, longs days, which started out with an early-morning staff meeting and ended with us going home under cover of darkness. In the rush to get all of our stories done for layout the next day, our editor was laser-focused on one thing — putting out the best paper each and every week.
