The rest of the world is already becoming used to nuclear provocations on the part of the violently anti-Western and isolationist regime which currently maintains a stranglehold over North Korea. To add to this increasingly frightening scenario, the rogue state has recently been conducting tests of long-range missile delivery systems, putting many nations including the United States under the knife-edge of Pyongyang’s nuclear scimitar.

The early years of my adulthood were revisited this past weekend as I was able to partake in playing NHL ‘94 for the Sega Genesis.
The sights and sounds of one of the arguably greatest hockey games ever made for a video game console came flooding back, of the familiar organ player, the boos from the crowd over an unsavoury hit or the half-dozen breakaways that are commonplace with the game.

Growing up in Canada’s Prairie provinces, even in the cities, one is never far away from the sharp blast of a horn, the bass rumble of a diesel engine throttling up, and the clatter of rusty rolling stock floating through a given community. Although the glory days of the railways and rail travel in Western Canada have come and gone, many communities still bear witness to these vital shipping arteries on a daily basis.

Another Superbowl has come and gone, and while I am $40 lighter in the wallet thanks to bets to Stefan Adams and Laurie Renner on a San Francisco 49ers win prediction by myself, the pain was soothed by an epic Superbowl party hosted by Jason and Deonie Jensen.
