When you hear the term Cowboy Poetry do you think of a bunch of people sitting around reading poems?  If you do, it is time to attend the event in Taber at the Community Centre Auditorium on Saturday, March 27.

There are entertainers who are master story tellers and they do usually tell the stories in such a way that there is rhyming involved.  Stories of life on the farms and ranches, small towns and villages are told to be sure, but in such a way you can connect with them even if you are from the big city.  Tales of loves, friends and amusing times come to life on the stage.  The country artists of yesteryear told their tales of loves gotten and loves lost, of jobs done and life to live through song.  This is the entertainment you will see at the Taber Cowboy Poetry making it a good day for the entire family without fear of the young’uns being exposed to something they shouldn’t be.  Need to stretch your legs, not a problem get up and dance a step or two or wander the back of the room where there is usually some art to look at and perchance buy, some raffle draws to enter or a CD or book of the work by one of your favorite entertainers there.  Take the time to track them down and get it autographed for that true one of a kind purchase.
Gettin’ hungry, no need to leave the building, stop by the kitchen and pick up a BBQ beef on the bun with beans and then a slice of homemade pie a la mode or a cookie or square to top it off.
Come on out, enjoy the day and support the Taber Museum.  This year will be our 13th annual Cowboy Poetry.  If you would like to take a look at the program ahead of time, just stop by the Museum and ask for one.
