It would seem apparent the sovereignty debate for Quebec has more lives than a wily cat. For Canadians — using that term loosely, considering the context — it never seems to fade from view despite taking seemingly fatal blows over the years.

Recently, the Taber Recreation Board adopted a policy that those organizations wanting a partial or full waiver request for fees associated with booking town-owned facilities have to come before the board to make their request.

There is one day a year it seems like couples have to dole out plenty of extravagance to prove how much they really love their better half. Chocolates, candy, flowers, and maybe even an engagement ring or two are given to children, girlfriends, wives, and in the odd reversal, boyfriends and husbands.

Medicine Hat MP LaVar Payne should be commended in his stance on the communist-run CNOOC's take over of Nexen. He couldn't be more correct in identifying his own "grave concern" in the human rights record of communist China in an Aug. 21 letter addressed to Industry Minister Christian Paradis.
