How worried should Taberites be about a draft report of the Town of Taber Emergency Services Master Plan?
To hear one of the reports architects tell it, Taber is not in good shape compared to other municipalities when it comes to a number of issues regarding fire-department coverage.
Perhaps the most alarming revelation in the report was the information which indicated Taber’s fire department could only react within 10 minutes  to structure fires that take place in the vicinity of the fire hall.

Simply put, it is appalling the condition Taber is in sometimes, particularly when that first snow melts in the spring.
No, it’s not green grass and the early appearance of flowers that attracts our attention most often, it is the revelation our streets and other areas are flush with trash.
This past spring, Taber Green and Clean noticed this disgusting fact as well, and set to work with about 60 volunteers to clean up a few areas of town.

Canada Day is back in Taber PDF Print

It was not too long ago when Canada Day celebrations were very low-key affairs here in Taber.
For the most part, Taberites made the trip 20 minutes north to Vauxhall, when a demolition derby and a host of other events greeted them every July 1.
Vauxhall continues to put on a top-notch celebration to mark Canada’s birthday but in Taber, things have been stepped up considerably.

The majority of Canadians who even bothered to watch the news over the weekend had to have been disgusted by the senseless chaos surrounding the G8 and G20 summits in Toronto.
While a number of protesters were assembled to conduct peaceful demonstrations, a group of so-called protesters were determined to use the opportunity to launch acts of senseless violence and vandalism. Anyone with any common sense could quickly see those who created the chaos were not really protesters at all.

Photo radar just another deterrent PDF Print

Many communities throughout Alberta and other parts of the country use photo radar.
It appears the devices, often denounced as a simple cash cow, are now coming to Taber, after negotiations wrap up for use of the machines.
There are certainly bound to be locals in disagreement with the arrival of photo radar, and if the photo radar is used irresponsibly as a money grab, those protests will have proved correct.
