It is that time of the year again where families travel near and far to be close with family and friends to celebrate Christmas and the holidays.

With the Alberta Teacher’s Association (ATA) walking away from the tripartite negotiating table, not liking the main course of how talks were going to achieve labour peace, the move has left a bad taste in seemingly everybody’s mouth.

A decision by Taber town council at the Nov. 26 meeting to divest control of the town’s ambulance service to Alberta Health Services (AHS) upon the expiration of the existing contract on March 31, 2013, will have the Town of Taber no longer in the ambulance business.
Depending on which side of the fence one sits with regard to the issue, this is a troubling decision, or one which will ultimately benefit the taxpayers of the community.
To be fair, there is probably some truth to either argument.

As North Americans are about to bid farewell to November 2012 and venture into the upcoming month of merriment, one should take a moment to gather their bearings and prepare both financially and emotionally with what December brings forth.
