EDITOR; I receive and read cover to cover every issue of Westworld that AMA sends me. Imagine my surprise to read an article about community garage sales, and how popular they are. When the Taber and District Chamber of Commerce was approached with this very same idea, it was turned down because a few of the downtown businesses were not in favour of having main street blocked off for a Saturday afternoon. These businesses felt their customers would not have anywhere to park while they shopped.

I read your article on recycling numbers with interest in your March 30th issue. About two years ago, we instituted a "blue box " program here in Barnwell in which every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month our recycling is picked up at our door, alongside our garbage.

EDITOR; Would this be in Prime Minister Harper’s playbook to get tough on crime and criminals? Check this out people... the most horrendous serial killer in Canada is receiving a bigger old-age pension than most seniors. Clifford Olsen killed 11 kids, perhaps more. Our tax dollar has kept him in a clean, warm, safe place. We clothed, fed and educated him, supported his wife, all their medical bills plus he also enjoys conjugal visits. Prison you say! Not! It is a bloody hotel.

EDITOR; A front-page article in last week’s Taber Times (March 24) titled, Taber handibus in jeopardy, brought attention to a very important service in our community that is accessed by a variety of community members, including school-aged children and youth.
