Pool not likely to open May 12 PDF Print E-mail

Rather than set another target date, when the Aquafun Centre knows when its opening date will be, notices will be sent throughout the schools. Regular patrons will also be contacted to attempt to channel information through them.
There will also be postings outside the facility to let the public know the pool will be open.
"Before we open the doors to the public, we just have to make sure all our permits are in place and all safety requirements have been met," said Holmen. "The building has not been officially turned back yet to the town yet from the contractor. We can't take over operations of it until they say their project is complete."
There is a final inspection with the contractors scheduled for today.
"We are very, very close - we are just hesitant to say an exact date. If we do, it's disappointing to people if we don't meet that date," said Holmen. "We are still taking swim lesson registrations at the pool."
