I wish to add my voice in support of Jillian Demontigny who presented an informed perspective on the issue of abortion (“Pro-choice doesn’t mean anti-life” Sept. 9).
Pro-choice does not mean anti-life, nor does it mean pro-abortion. Pro-choice is pro-women, and in this country, thankfully, legal, safe abortion is a fundamental human right for women. Abortion is a private matter between a woman who is is in a vulnerable and difficult situation and her doctor.
I feel that pro-life’s relentless campaign of advertising is over the top, aimed at shaming and judging and is really not “pro” life at all. I, for one, would be in favour of getting rid of the benches at the cemetery and all the other disgusting billboards that disfigure our landscape.
