Well if you're anything like my family and I, you're getting antsy about winter — and you don't take that groundhog too seriously. One says six more weeks and usually the other tends to disagree. No matter what, it always seems like winter is digging in its claws and trying to stick around as long as possible.

I mentioned in my last entry that I was proud to be Canadian and that it isn't something I really think on very often. Apparently I don't go around thinking about where I live or where I'm from as much as I should - or I take it for granted.

An attractive little frog that was once so prolific it was commonly used in the school rooms of southern Alberta as the frog to dissect in Biology class, this frog is listed as a Threatened Species under the Alberta Wildlife Act.  This frog is native to the grasslands of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.  Still doing well in Saskatchewan and Manitoba it is disappearing from Alberta’s landscape.

For those who may not know, the Taber Irrigation Impact Museum is about more than irrigation.  We have archives with information that date back to 1907 and probably several thousand negatives, slides and photos from Taber’s early beginnings right up to and including events that are happening today.
