Traffic fatalities result in charges laid

The serious vehicle collision on Dec. 5 that caused the death of two Coaldale residents has resulted in the Taber/Vauxhall RCMP laying criminal charges against a Lethbridge resident.

RCMP have charged 58-year-old Roy McClusky with two counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Death under section 249(4) of the Criminal Code and two Counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm, under section 249(3) of the Criminal Code.

McClusky is not in police custody, and will make his first court appearance on Jan. 26 in Taber provincial court.

The motor vehicle collision in question occurred on Highway 3, approximately 15 kilometres east of Taber.

A 33-year-old male along with a five-year-old child, were pronounced deceased at the scene. A three-year-old child travelling in the same vehicle was airlifted to Calgary hospital via STARS with non-life threatening injuries.

Two other female subjects were also transported to hospital.
