Peewee Suns have rough homestand

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns had a tough go of it this past weekend in South Central Alberta Hockey League play, dropping both of its games.

The first was a 9-2 loss at the hands of Foothills Bisons at the Taber Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Holm and Rhett Klemen tallied for the Suns, with Holm also getting an assist.

Kahil Wright and Marek Schlenker split goaltending duties in the loss, facing 18 shots each.

Sunday’s home game was a 7-3 loss against Wheatland Braves.

The Golden Suns got second-period goals from Aidyn Law, Kade Duell and Holm. Kolter Walburger, Kaden Pahl, and Nicholas Hofmann drew assists.

Schlenker faced 46 shots on net for the peewee Golden Suns.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns are on the road this weekend with a Friday game against Lethbridge Hurricanes Red and a Saturday tilt against Red Deer Motors.

BANTAM: After a week off from SCAHL play, Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns return to league play on the road this weekend with a Saturday game against Red Deer and Sunday against West Central Tigers.

MIDGET: Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns dropped a 7-2 decision to Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Taber Arena on Sunday.

Mason Sande and Cody Stange scored for the Golden Suns. Sande also got an assist along with Seth McCulloch and Kolten Heins. Ethan Barrows and Logan Leroux shared goaltending duties, facing a combined 27 shots on net in the loss.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns host Medicine Hat Hounds on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Taber Arena.

The team also hosts Bow Valley Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Taber Arena.
