Midget “AA” Golden Suns split

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns (3-2) split its pair of games in South Central Alberta Hockey League play on the weekend.

The Suns doubled up Medicine Hat Hounds (2-2) 4-2 at the Taber Arena on Friday night.

Scoring was spread out, where Nakoda Thunderchief, Tanner Turcato, Kole Fujita and Jayden Kostiuk scored for the Golden Suns. Mason Sande drew two assists with Seth McCulloch getting a single helper.

Ethan Barrows earned the win in net for the Golden Suns, stopping 37 of 39 shots.

The team continued onto Saturday evening where they fell 4-1 to Bow Valley Timberwolves (6-0) at home.

Sande scored the lone Suns tally with assists from McCulloch and Kaden Booth.

Logan Leroux took the loss in net, facing 28 shots.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns travel to Lethbridge on Friday to take on the Hurricanes.

PEEWEE: Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns (0-6) dropped both of its games over the weekend in South Central Alberta Hockey league play.

The first was a 10-0 blanking at the hands of Lethbridge Hurricanes Red (6-0-1) on the road on Friday.

Goaltender Kahil Wright faced 39 shots on net in the loss.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns continued its road trip with a 6-4 loss to Red Deer (1-3) on Saturday.

Ryan Holm tallied twice and Aidyn Law and Ty Fraser had singles. Rhett Klemen and Chance Loke drew assists. Marek Schlenker faced 45 shots on goal.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns travel to Medicine Hat on Friday to take on the Hounds and then return home on Sunday to battle the West Central Tigers at the Taber Arena at 1 p.m.

BANTAM: Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns (0-4-1) were on the wrong side of both of its games on the road.

The first was a 5-1 loss to Red Deer (1-5-1) on Saturday.

Caden Heins scored the lone Suns tally, with assists from Carter DeBoer and Nathan Verloop.

Landon Porteous faced 43 shots on goal in the loss.

Sunday’s tilt was a 4-1 loss at the hands of West Central Tigers (6-0-1).

Michael Stronge scored for the Suns who got an assist from Carson Cleland.

Ty Young had a busy game, facing 45 shots on goal.

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns return home this weekend with a Friday game against Bow Valley Timberwolves at 8:30 p.m. at the Taber Community Centre. The team also hosts West Central Tigers on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Taber Arena.
