Atom ‘B’ Oil Kings make mark at home

Taber atom ‘B’ Oil Kings took silver in its home tournament over the weekend.

Oil Kings started off its tournament run with a 9-1 win over Medicine Hat Flames.

Damian Beswick had four goals in the win and Tristen Egeland and Ryler Kiss each had two tallies. Blake Rabusic had a single.

Friday’s play continued with a 7-2 loss to Bow River Bruins.

Beswick scored both Oil Kings goals.

The team rebounded to post an 11-2 win over Missoula Bruins on Saturday.

Beswick scored four goals and Egeland had the hat trick. Tate Nakashima, Zachary Fehr, Kiss, and Tanner Fletcher had singles.

The team’s last game was a 9-1 loss to the Bow River Bruins on Sunday.

Egeland scored for the Oil Kings.

PEEWEE: Taber peewee Oil Kings were doubled up by Raymond 10-5 in Central Alberta Hockey League play on Friday night on the road.

Evan Koizumi had the hat trick and Walker Skiba tallied twice.

The Oil Kings also competed in its provincial playdown games with Claresholm Thunder getting the better of the Oil Kings 14-11 in goal differential over two games.

On Saturday, the Thunder beat the Oil Kings 6-2 in Claresholm.

Koizumi and Skiba scored for the Oil Kings.

The Oil Kings then edged the Thunder 9-8 on Sunday in Vauxhall.

Heath Hansen, Skiba and Connor Eldridge all had two goals apiece.

Ashton Lukacs, Evan Friesen and Evan Rabusic had singles. Eldridge, Carter Jensen, and Kyler Marchuk had two assists apiece.

MIDGET: Taber midget Oil Kings blanked Brooks Bulldogs 6-0 in Central Alberta Hockey League play on Saturday on the road.

Grady Honess had the hat trick and Ty Kiss, Zach Young and Max Nevil had singles.
