There have been 25 years that have passed, but for many of the 1989 Swartz Petroleum team that won the Canadian Master Men’s Softball Championship meeting at the Taber Golf Club on Saturday afternoon, it was like a day had not passed.

Hole-in-one oddity featured at Taber Golf Club PDF Print

According to Golf Digest, which has been tracking the data for over 60 years now, the odds of an amateur golfer making a hole-in-one is 12,500 to 1.
Given the feat that was accomplished at the Taber Golf Club on Saturday, the statisticians must be working into overtime with its probability formulas.
Two hole-in-ones were made, recorded by two separate golfers with one each, during the same round, in the same foursome on the same day.
Dr. Gerald Beckie who has been golfing for 50 years, recorded his first ever ace on No. 6 at 122 yards out.

That is because one of the most unique golf tournament ideas the golf course has ever had will be featuring a Girls Just Want to Have Fun 80s Charity Golf Tournament.
The drive will be just what it’s title indicates ... a bunch of girls having fun.

Schmidt medals with cycling spirit PDF Print

For some people cycling is a hobby ... for 25-year-old Blake Schmidt who has autism, it is a passion.
That fact was self evident as Schmidt helped pad an already impressive M.D. of Taber medal count at the recently finished Southern Alberta Summer Games with two gold, a silver and a bronze in his various cycling categories.
