The 2013 Men’s Open Bonspiel concluded over the weekend at the Taber Curling Club with skip Ron Hawkins and his rink of John Lohues, Tom Bond and Greg Schenkel winning top honours in the first event. Finishing in second place in the first event was skip Ken Hirsche with team Jim Nilsson, Todd Imahashi and Kim Owen. Third place was skip Ken Blaney with rink Don McCann, Dale Cummings and Rick Smith.
Finishing in fourth place in the first event was skip Lawrence Craddock and teammates Tim Craddock, Jamie Weitz and Kris Indzeoski. Leading the charge in the second event was skip Steve Andrews along with rink Steve Swarbrick, Taylor Maryka and Cole Swarbrick. Taking second in the second event was skip Bryon Broderson along with Joe McNiven, Richard Willis and Jared Willis. Bert Friesen skipped his rink of Bruce Gilbertson, Mark Hirsche and Layne Christensen to third in the second event. Fourth-place honours belonged to skip Ivan Locke and Darren Skretting, Ed Odland and Brad Sekura. Skip Kevin Leahy and his rink of Gary Glas, Brody Campbell and Will Scott earned top spot in the third event. Close behind in second was skip Brad Weitz along with Dave Vanrobaeys, Kelsey Brown and Dale Weitz. Third place in the third event belonged to skip Kyle Beauchamp and his rink of Brent Nicol, Mike Emslie, and Kevin Beauchamp. Fourth place was skip Simon Kramer, John Kramer, Gerry Kramer and Ron Ingram. |
