Taber peewee ‘A’ Oil Kings were the runner up in the ‘B’ division of the Picture Butte Wilbur Ellis Tournament over the weekend.
Oil Kings lost 7-2 to the Eckville Eagles in the final on Sunday. Marshal Enns and Hayden Mack tallied for the Oil Kings. Ryan Mankow received the Heart and Hustle Award for the Oil Kings in the game.
INITIATION: Taber initiation 2 Oil Kings defeated Vauxhall 12-3 over the weekend in minor hockey play.
Hunter Damberger, Devin Loewen, and Gavin Kinniburgh each had two goals apiece in the win. Samuel Tolsma, Braxton Macnamara, Carter Jensen, Kahil Wright, Roman Pavka and Xavier Hull all had singles for the Oil Kings.
In other initiation hockey action, Taber Oil Kings 1 defeated Brooks 20-6 on Saturday.
Kade Duell, Evan Koizumi, Carson Love, Jaxson Coutts, Nathan Planger and Hayden Span all had hat tricks. Tristen Egeland tallied twice. Duell had two helpers and Coutts had one.
