Taber Oil Kings Initiation 2 defeated Vauxhall on Saturday at home with Tyson Church, Lincoln Weiss, Konnor Wiebe, Blake Rabusic, Avery Remfert, Sam Tolsma, Roman Pavka, Branson Devlieger, Brook Friesen, Tage Jensen and Wieler Krahn scoring for the victors.
In tournament play, Taber Oil Kings Initiation 1 traveled to Picture Butte and recorded a 1-2 record.
Oil Kings’ first game was against Picture Butte in a 12-6 win. Nathan Planger and Rex Bell with hat tricks, Langdyn Cummins with two goals, and Shaylee DeBona, Jordan Genert, Ryler Kiss and Tanner Fletcher with singles. On Saturday Oil Kings played Okotoks and lost 11-8. Nathan Planger had three goals, Rex Bell had two, and Langdyn Cummins, Tanner Fletcher and Jordan Genert each scored once. Sunday’s tilt was against Coaldale which was a 10-5 loss.
Scoring was Nathan Planger with three goals, and Langdyn Cummins and Max Anderson each had singles.
NOVICE: Taber Novice 1 Oil Kings dropped a 7-5 decision to Raymond Monsters on the road on Saturday.
Connor Eldridge had four goals and an assist. Erik Grimson scored a single and Carson Love, Hayden Span and Logan Snyder recorded assists.
On Sunday both local novice teams tussled with each other at the Taber arena with Taber Novice 1 Oil Kings beating Novice 2 Oil Kings 14-9.
Heath Hansen, Eldridge and Kade Duell each had four goals apiece for the victors. Span and Braxton Macnamara had singles. Duell also drew three assists and Hunter Damberger, Snyder, Owen Ruggles, Xavier Hull, Macnamara and Eldridge all drew assists.
Replying for Novice Oil Kings 2 was Ashton Lukacs with four goals. Matthew Gensorek had two goals Matteo Blasetti, Kahill Wright and Walker Skiba had singles. Drawing assists were Skiba, Kyler Marchuk, Evan Koizumi and Devan Loewen.
BANTAM: Taber bantam Tier II Oil Kings played three road games over the weekend, winning two of them.
Friday’s win was a 6-0 blanking of Strathmore Storm. Daylen Parker tallied twice and Ryan McDonald, Ryan Mankow, Quinn Slezak and Ryan Hubble each had singles. Recording assists were Mankow, Bruce Feldbusch, Mitchell Young, Hubble, Dylan Jones, Scott Loewen, Parker and Gavin Hoskins.
Saturday’s tilt was a 6-3 doubling of Oyen Bees.
Parker and Loewen both had two goals apiece and Hoskins and Hubble notched singles. Assists were recorded by Hubble. Parker, Kevin Turner, Loewen and Feldbusch.
The Oil Kings finished its road trip with a 9-0 blanking at the hands of Oyen the following day on Sunday.
