The Taber Gymnastics Fitness Club took part in Gymfest earlier this month.
It was the club’s third year attending the event put on by the Alberta Gymnastics Federation. Gymnasts took part in workshops on Saturday, which included capoeira, orienteering, and a game of "amazing race."
The event was held at Grant MacEwan University and was attended by over 20 teams, with over 450 athletes from Alberta.
It is a performance event for gymnasts at a recreational level. No scores are given, but it gives gymnasts an opportunity to see if competitive gymnastics is for them, performing in such a large venue for a packed house.
The Demo group practices one day each week. The class includes tumbling, dance, and stunts. Instuctors for this class are Miss Alida and Coach Kat.Â
