Why are so many Albertans ignorant of the fact that reformers are nothing like the conservatives we proudly supported under Lougheed and Getty. Lougheed’s energy minister Bill Dickie was a brother in-law of one of my uncles and the MLAs I got to know over the years all considered reformers to be their enemy and they were furious with the conservative parties for letting them take over and destroy their parties.
Kenney proves he is their enemy by deliberately trying to destroy everything Lougheed created for us. As they pointed out, it wasn’t surprising that reformers Stephen Harper, Preston Manning, Brian Jean, Jim Prentice, Danielle Smith, and Andrew Scheer were all defeated in elections when people found out what they stood for, and Jason Kenney will be next.
It’s no secret that none of them have been smart enough to suggest they follow in Lougheed’s footsteps of collecting proper royalties and taxes, they would rather cater to their rich friends and use the slashing of taxes and royalties to buy votes and put Albertans in a worse financial mess. It’s not going to work this time.
