Disappointed with thieves

Posted on February 26, 2014 by Taber Times

I like people. I really do. Occasionally it’s difficult. I believe there is a little bad in the best of us, and a little good in the worst of us.

Most of us just do our best. I’m writing this because, not for the first time, unfortunately, I am shocked, angered and disappointed at the sheer ignorance and lack of respect that occurs in Taber. A man and his family who live on the north end of 50th Street have for many years gone to great expense and hard work to provide an amazing, knock your socks off display in their yard at Christmas and Halloween. They do this simply for the pleasure of others. Thank God for people like them. Sadly, there are other kinds of people who saw fit a few days ago to steal expensive decorations from them and rob pleasure for many.

I would like to tell the thieves that sometimes honest people with a conscience and a shred of decency make mistakes, but they take responsibility for their actions and do the right thing to try to make it better. It’s never too late
