Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns (21-3-3) continued its winning ways as the squad sits atop the South Division in South Central Alberta Hockey League play.

Travelling on Saturday, the Suns edged Okotoks Oilers Green (9-13-4) 5-4, scoring two unanswered goals in the third period.

Rhett Serras, Cage Smith, Barrett Van Nistelrooy, Kayden Yeaman and Jett Matisho all scored for the Suns. Cason Van Hal earned the win in net, facing 23 shots on goal.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns proceeded to win 6-4 against Medicine Hat Black (16-7-3) on the road on Sunday.

Colby Gulliver tallied twice and Jager Gugyelka, Sutten Emelson, Yeaman and Matisho had singles. Gugyelka also had three assists. Bryan Noble earned the win in net. net,facing 31 shots on goal.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns play Medicine Hat Black on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Vauxhall Arena. Also, the Suns play Chestermere lakers on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Vauxhall Arena.

BANTAM: Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns (6-17-7) skated to two draws in SCAHL play as the calendar flipped to February.

The first was a 5-5 tie to Red Deer Steel Kings (17-7-5) on the road on Saturday.

Kobe Fujita scored with 1:24 left in the game to help earn the Suns a point in the standings. Rhett Klemen, Hayden Smith, Brady Magarrell and Riley Preachuk also scored.

Keegan Stenger faced 34 shots on goal to earn the tie.

The team proceeded to earn a 2-2 draw against Cranbrook Hornets (7-20-4) at the Vauxhall Arena on Sunday.

Connor Chapman and Preachuk scored for the Suns.

Kahil Wright earned the tie in net, facing 15 shots on goal.

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns host Okotoks Oilers at the Taber Arena on Sunday at 1 p.m.

MIDGET: Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns (12-13-1) skated to an 8-5 victory over Okotoks Oilers (5-19-4) on the road on Saturday night in SCAHL play.

Jayden Kostiuk and Carter DeBoer each had two goals apiece in the win and Cody Stange, Rylan Millo, Zach Young, and Tristan Miller had singles.
DeBoer and Kostiuk had three assists apiece.

Aidan Low earned the win in net, facing 26 shots on goal.

Midget “AA” Golden Suns have a two-game homestead this weekend, with a Friday game at 8:30 p.m. against Medicine Hat Hounds and a Saturday 8 p.m. game against NWCAA Stamps at the Taber Arena.
