A woman facing a second-degree murder charge in Taber will be back in provincial court for preliminary inquiry on July 28.

Trina Michelle Thomas appeared before Judge D.G. Redman in Taber provincial court on May 20, via CCTV from the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.

Expected to last three days, the preliminary inquiry is scheduled to start on July 28, and to be continued July 30-31 in Taber provincial court.

Thomas had been charged after a mid-March incident in Taber’s downtown core which left Howard Sakebow, 47, dead inside his apartment. According to police, Sakebow suffered fatal chest wounds after Thomas allegedly seized a kitchen knife in each hand and swung at the victim.

The 28-year-old will remain in custody until her next appearance on July 28.
